Currently pursuing a Master's degree in Intelligence and International Security at the War Studies Department of King's College London, Barun Gupta's intellectual interests span a wide range of subjects, including International Relations, Risk Management, Security Strategy, and Maritime Affairs. Driven by his ambition to better understand the thematics of global security challenges, he has conducted extensive research on contemporary security threats in various regions, such as the Arctic, Indo-Pacific, South China Sea, and NATO.
Recently, Barun had the opportunity to work as part of a student team for the Common Mission Project in the UK. His team was tasked with co-creating a solution on increasing allied cooperation in the Arctic, a problem sponsored by the UK Ministry of Defence, using lean start-up methodology. In addition, Barun has held positions in various organisations, including AIESEC, Excellanto Ventures, and National Maritime Foundation (NMF), where he honed his research, data analysis, and project management skills. Looking forward, Barun's long-term aspiration is to foster creative thinking and develop innovative solutions to pressing global problems. He believes that equipping himself with the necessary analytic tools, language expertise, and cross-cultural understanding will enable him to make a meaningful contribution to the field of risk intelligence analysis. |
